Next BAPPS Event
Online masterclass: Live psychoanalytic supervision with real forensic cases, exploring complex dynamics in clinical practice.
20th June 2025, 18.30, Zoom
Sam Russ, Forensic Psychologist and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapist (WPF), will present anonymised case material from his work in a secure forensic unit. These cases involve individuals with severe psychological disturbance, often experiencing psychosis, borderline states, and criminal behaviour within custodial settings.
The concept of containment, both psychological and institutional, will be a central theme, explored in relation to the dynamics of risk, disturbance, and the therapeutic frame.
Participants will:
Observe and contribute to live psychoanalytic and psychodynamic supervision
Reflect on the parallel processes arising within supervision
Explore the supervision of supervision, with particular attention to transference and institutional dynamics
Gain insights into the challenges of working psychotherapeutically with high-risk and hard-to-reach patients
This event is open to both BAPPS members and non-members with an interest in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic supervision.
Please note:
The event will be conducted online only. The masterclass will not be recorded to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity
